Xbox LIVE iPad And iPhone App Launched By Microsoft

Xbox 360 owners that own an iPhone or iPad might be surprised to learn that Microsoft has just rolled out a new iOS application, similar to its Windows Phone 7 Companion App we featured earlier this week. Although the new iOS app does lack a few of the features of the Windows Phone version.
The surprise move by Microsoft has brought with it an official Xbox LIVE app which enables Xbox 360 LIVE gamers to manage their friends list, invite new friends, and read and edit their full LIVE profile, direct from their iOS device.

Other features also enable you to compare your game progress and achievements with friends and even update your avatars features and items if desired.
Microsoft explains:

“Take your Xbox LIVE experience wherever you go with the My Xbox LIVE app. Track and compare your achievements, connect with your Xbox LIVE friends, and change up your 3D Avatar. Review all your recent great games you and your friends love to play and compare achievements with them. Jump into our games hub to learn about the latest LIVE games and apps. Access Xbox Spotlight feeds, get breaking news from Xbox LIVE, game tips and tricks, gamer spotlight and much more.”

The new iOS Xbox 360 LIVE is now available to download from the iTunes App Store for free.


Facebook Timeline Public Roll Out Begins (video)

After a few weeks delay Facebook has today finally started rolling out its new Facebook Timeline feature to its users. If you are registered as a developer you will have already been able to use the new Timeline feature. But is you haven’t the Timeline has been designed by Facebook to provide a “new way of expressing who you are,” says Facebook.

Enabling you to see all the important updates from your Facebook account in one place in a ore visual experience. Previously you would have needed to click on the ‘Older Posts’ link at the bottom of someone’s profile to find these.
The new Facebook Timeline also allows you to customise your view by hiding or displaying the areas you are more interested in. It will also allows you to now view your private Activity Log, that will let you view everything you shared since you opened your Facebook account.

Facebook Android App Updated

Facebook has released a new version of their Android app, and according to Facebook the new Facebook Android app is designed to be faster, features a newly designed user interface and more.
Facebook for Android now makes it easier to share photos from you Android device, the messaging part of the app has also been updated and you latest message notifications now appear at the top of your smartphones display.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 Goes Up For Pre-order

It looks like the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 will shortly be available in the US as the device has appeared online for pre-order at a number of retailers, and the SIM free 3G version is retailing for about $670.
As a reminder, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 comes with with Android 3.2 Honeycomb, plus a 7.7 inch Super AMOLED Plus display with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels, processing is provided by a dual core 1.4GHz processor and it also come with 1GB of Ram and a choice of either 16GB, 32GB or 64GB of built in storage.

Other specifications on the Samsing Galaxy Tab 7.7 include a a microSD card slot which can take up to 32GB microSD cards, plus 802.11 a/b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 3.0, A-GPS and a three megapixel camera on the back with an LED flash and auto-focus, up front there is a 2 megapixel fixed focus camera for video chat.

Sony Ericsson Xperia Handsets To Get Android 4.0 ICS In January?

Sony Ericsson recently confirmed that they would be releasing the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update for their 2011 range of Xperia smartphones, although they didn’t give any specific details on when the update would be available.
It would appear that we may see the Android 4.0 update land on the Xperia devices as soon as January 2012, according to a recent tweet which was posted to Twitter by a Sony Ericsson employee, although this has yet to be confirmed officially by Sony Ericsson.


Sony previously told us that the Xperia devices that would get Ice Cream Sandwich would include the Xperia Arc, Xperia Arc S, Xperia Play, Xperia Neo and Neo V, Xperia Mini and Mini Pro, Xperia pro, Xperia Active and Xperia Ray, plus the Sony Ericsson Live Walkman.
As soon as we get some more details on when Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich will be available for the Xperia range of smartphones we will let you guys know.
