Sony SmartWatch Links Directly To Your Android Smartphone (videos)

At CES this week Sony has revealed their new SmartWatch, which has been design to provide a link to your Android mobile phone. Allowing you to easily access calls, messages and applications from your wrist.
The Sony SmartWatch is fitted with a 128 x 128 pixel OLED touchscreen, and connects to your Android smartphone via Bluetooth connection. Its also splash proof and is equipped with an accelerometer and vibration feature. Watch the videos after the jump to see it in action.

Sony has today unveiled their new Wireless Headset Pro (pictured above on the right), a wireless stereo headset that also can be used as a stand alone MP3 player or FM radio if required, and designed to be used with Android smartphones.
Its two line display enables you to read incoming text messages, see incoming calls, access calendar notifications and more, watch the video below to see the Wireless Headset Pro in action.

Samsung Announces 55 Inch Super OLED TV

Samsung has launched what it calls the worlds largest commercialized OLED TV at this years CES, and it features a 55 inch Super OLED display, and offer support for both 2D and 3D content.
The Samsung 55inch Super OLED TV also comes with a built in camera, plus it features Samsung’s Smart Hub built in, which includes a range of apps through Samsung’s TV app store and a web browser.

Super OLED technology eliminates the need for a color filter as the OLED pixel unit consists of RGB sub-pixels—each emitting its own light. The technology is also able to differentiate varying degrees of blacks and shadows, so that users can enjoy unparalleled detail even in the darkest of scenes.
Samsung has said that their new 55 inch Super OLED TV will be available worldwide later this year, there are no details on pricing as yet.

Rocstor says that all of these encryption methods are integrated on the drive’s enclosure itself and can be assured that the information is secure. Its equipped with with two FireWire 800 ports and one USB 2.0 port. The Rocstor Amphibious is expected to arrive sometime in this quarter with a price tag of around $350.

Sony Launches Bloggie Sport Full HD Camcorder At CES

Sony has launched their new Bloggie Sport Camcorder at CES today, thats equipped with a Sony Exmor CMOS sensor for recording 1080p HD, and is fitted with face recognition and HDMI output. Together with SteadyShot image stabilization and LED light for low-light shooting situations.

Being a sport version of their Bloggie range the new camcorder is more rugged and is shockproof, rustproof and waterproof. On the rear of the Bloggie Sport is a small 2.7 inch LCD touchscreen, which can even be operated whilst underwater.
The Sony MHS-TS22 Bloggie Sport HD is available in three colours : black,blue and red and will be priced at $180.

Vizio VAP430 Media Streamer With Google TV Announced

Vizio has announced a new Google TV device, the Vizio VAP430 Media Streamer, it can be hooked up to your HDTV via HDMI and can stream content to your TV via WiFi.
It comes with a built in Chrome browser and you can stream content to the device from tablets, smartphones and computers, plus content can also be streamed to the device direct from the cloud.

The Vizio VAP430 can also be connected to your satellite or cable set top box via HDMI and it comes with a new Vizio Google TV remote, it will go on sale in the Spring there are no details on pricing as yet.

BlueStacks Android App Player For Windows 8, Named CES Innovations Winner for 2012

BlueStacks has announced today that it has been developing an Android App Player that will be compatible with Windows 8 when it arrives later their year. The BlueStacks App Player will allow users to load and run Android applications within the Windows 8 Operating System. BlueStacks is currently actively working with top PC manufacturers to pre-load the BlueStacks App Player on Ultrabooks, tablets, notebooks and all-in-one desktop PCs.

BlueStacks was named a CES Innovations winner for 2012, as it is the only program that can run native mobile applications that are ARM-based or x86, windowed or fullscreen, on Windows PCs and tablets. The software will be available in a beta form this February, with a full release coming sometime in the Spring 2012.

Apple Releases iOS 5.1 Beta 3 To Developers

Apple has released the latest version of iOS to developers, iOS 5.1 Beta 3, which should mean that we are getting closer to the general release of iOS 5.1 which will hopefully fix the battery problems that a number of iPhone users have been experiencing.
It looks like iOS 5.1 Beta 3 has restored the toggle switch which allows you to turn of and on the 3G cellular data access, and also it comes with a new API that will allow app developers to flag content in their apps that doesn’t need to be backed up.

SanDisk Announces Worlds Fastest 128GB SDXC Card

SanDisk has launched a new SDXC card, the SanDisk Extreme SDXC UHS-I card which the company claims is the worlds fastest 128GB SDXC card, and it is capable of capturing up to 10 hours of full HD 3D video.

The 128GB SanDisk Extreme SDXC UHS-I card is based on the new Ultra High Speed (UHS-I) architecture and is designed to capture hours of top-quality video footage. The card’s UHS Speed Class 1 rating surpasses the recording requirements of demanding video use cases-from home movies captured on a DSLR to high-quality 3D footage.

iPhone Gets Android Style Face Unlock Port (Video)

The latest version of Google’s mobile OS, Android Ice Cream Sandwich comes with a face unlock feature, which is available on the new Samsung Galaxy Nexus, and now one developer has installed a similar feature on Apple’s iPhone.
The video below shows the face unlock feature running on an iPhone, and it isn’t clear whether this is an actual port of the Android software or something which has been developed from scratch.

Lenovo A720 IdeaCentre All-in-one Multitouch PC, Starts At $1300

Following on from Lenovo’s newly announced all-in-one systems yesterday. Lenovo has today unveiled their new line of IdeaCentre A720 systems, that are equipped with a tilting multitouch screen.
Lenovo says their new A720 is the worlds thinnest all-in-one PC measuring just 24.5mm in thickness, together with a frameless display that supports 10 point multitouch use.

The Lenovo A720 is powered by a choice of Intel Core processor including the powerful Core i7, supported by unto 8GB of memory. With graphics power provided by the NVIDIA GeForce GT 630M 2GB graphics card.
The new Lenovo A720 all-in-one PC will start shipping in the first quarter of this year and will start at $1300. Lenovo also unveiled their new IdeaPad Yoga convertible ultrabook that converts from notebook into tablet today.

LG Spectrum 4G LTE Gets Official

Yesterday we saw some more photos of the new LG Spectrum, the device is now official and it is headed to Verizon Wireless in the US and it features a 4.5 inch HD display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels.
Processing is provided by a dual core Qualcomm 1.5GHz processor and it features Android 2.3 Gingerbread, with an updated to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich promised by LG.

Other specifications on the LG Spectrum include an 8 megapixel camera with auto-focus and an LED flash, plus a front facing 1.3 megapixel camera for video chat.
The LG Spectrum features 4G LTE, and can be used as a mobile hotspot with up to 10 WiFi devices, it comes with a 16GB microSD card installed and can take up to 32GB cards.
Verizon will start selling the LG Spectrum from the 19th of January 2012 for $199.99 when you sign up to a new two year contract with the carrier.

Sony Android Walkman Z Series Arriving In The Spring

Back In December last year Sony’s Android Walkman Z Series made it sway through the FCC, in preparation for arrival in the US. If you have been patiently waiting for its arrival you will be please to know that your wait is nearly over and the Android Walkman Z Series will be arriving in the US during the Spring of 2012.

The Sony Z Series Walkman is equipped with a 4.3 inch touchscreen display sporting a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels, and will be running Android Gingerbread, powered by a dual core NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor.
When the new Walkman Z Series arrives in the US the 8G Z Series will retail for around $250, the 16G for about $280 and the 32G for about $330.

Motorola Droid 4 For Verizon Gets Official

Over the last few months we have been hearing a lot about the new Motorola Droid 4, we had expected the device to launch in December, and now Verizon has finally officially announced the Motorola Droid 4.
The Motorola Droid 4 will come with 4G LTE and it features a dual core 1.2GHz processor and it will run Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread, plus if features a 4 inch qHD scratch resistant touchscreen display and 1GB of RAM.

The Droid 4 features a slide out QWERTY keyboard, plus an 8 megapixel camera,a 4G LTE mobile hotspot which can connect up to 8 devices via WiFi, 16GB of built in storage plus a microSD card slot which can take up to 32GB cards.
Verizon has also said that they will update the Motorola Droid 4 to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, there are no details on pricing or when it will be available as yet.

HTC Titan II 4G LTE Windows Phone Smartphone Announced

HTC has announced its first 4G LTE Windows Phone device, the HTC Titan II and it comes with some impressive specifications which include a 4.7 inch Super LCD display.
The HTC Titan II features Windows Phone 7.5 Mango and it is powered by a 1.5GHz Qulacomm Snapdragon S2 processor and features an advanced 16 megapixel camera.

The16 megapixel camera features a wide angle lens, auto-focus, a dual LED flash and a backside illuminated sensor, image stabilization, red eye reduction and HTC have also included a dedicated physical camera button.
Up front there is a 1.3 megapixel camera, and it features a 1,730 mAh battery, it will go on sale in the US with mobile carrier AT&T, there are no details on pricing or an exact release date as yet all we know is that it will be available in the ‘coming months’

Kinect For Windows Shipping 1st February, Available To Pre-Order For $250

Steve Ballmer Microsoft’s CEO has announced that Microsoft’s Kinect motion controller gaming peripheral will be arriving for Windows on February 1st 2012. If you would like to be one of the first to get your hands on the new Kinect device. The Kinect for Windows gaming peripheral is now available to pre-order for $249.99 from Amazon.
The new Kinect for Windows Sensor is fitted with a shortened USB cable to ensure reliability across a broad range of computers and includes a small dongle to improve support with other USB peripherals.

The Kinect for Windows firmware enables the depth camera to see objects as close as 50 centimeters in front of the device without losing accuracy or precision, with graceful degradation down to 40 centimeters.
A new “Near Mode” feature included in the Kinect for Windows will enable a whole new class of “close up” applications, beyond the living room scenarios for Kinect for Xbox 360, says Microsoft.
The Kinect for Windows sensor unit is intended to be used with the Kinect for Windows Commercial SDK and applications that have been developed using the Kinect for Windows Commercial SDK and associated runtime software.

Lenovo IdeaPad YOGA, The Flexible Convertible Ultrabook Introduced At CES

Lenovo has introduced their new IdeaPad Yoga Notebook at CES today, showcasing just how flexible the design of the notebook tablet is. Rather than swivelling the screen to create a more tablet style input device. Lenovo has taken a different approach with their IdeaPad Yoga notebook, and made the screen fold back 360 degrees allowing easier access to the touch screen.

The Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga notebook is equipped with a 13.1 inch 10 point capacitive touch screen sporting a resolution of 1600 × 900, and powered by a choice of Intel Core processors, which can be supported by up to 8GB of RAM and SSD storage up to 256GB in size.
When the Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga Notebook starts shipping later this year, in the second half of 2012, it will run Microsoft Windows 8 OS and retail for around $1200.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 Confirmed For Verizon

Back in December we heard a rumor that the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 would be headed to US mobile carrier Verizon Wireless, Verizon and Samsung have now confirmed that the Galaxy Tab 7.7 will be available on Verizon.
As a reminder, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 features a 7.7 inch Super AMOLED Plus touch screen display with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels, it will come with Android 3.2 Honeycomb, and 4G LTE.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 is powered by a dual core 1.4GHz processor and it also features 1GB of RAM, plus two cameras which include a front facing 2 megapixel camera and a rear facing 3 megapixel camera.
Other specifications on the Galaxy Tab 7.7 include a choice of either 16GB, 32GB or 64GB of built in storage, plus a microSD card slot which can take up to 32GB cards, it also features 802.11 a/b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 3.0 and A-GPS.
Verizon as yet haven’t released any details on when the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 will be available on their network in the US and we don’t as yet have any details on pricing, as soon as we get some more information we will let you guys know.

Marvell Announces Smile Plug Computer At CES

Marvell has unveiled their new Smile Plug Computer at CES today, which it has created to slot into a power outlet and send its own local content out to other Wi-Fi-enabled devices. The Smile has been initially deigned for use in classrooms and provide what Marvell calls “Classroom 3.0,”.
Marvell worked with Stanford University to produce the Marvell Smile Plug, which has been named after the Stanford Mobile Inquiry Based Learning Environment program, and creates a “micro cloud” wireless network within a classroom that is completely controlled by the teacher.

The Marvell SMILE is powered by a Marvell Armada 300 CPU that can run at up to 2G-Hz, 512MB of DDR3 RAM, and 512MB of Flash memory. An SD card slot allows for additional storage up to 32GB. The SMILE Plug also comes equipped with a Marvell Avastar 88W8764 Wi-Fi chip for broadcasting 802.11n signals to clients.
Unfortunately no information on pricing or worldwide availability has been released as yet by Marvell, but will will update you when any information is released.

Asus Eee Pad MeMO ME370T Tablet Gets Official

We have been hearing about the Asus Eee Pad MeMO for the last few months, and now Asus has officially shown off the device at CES and it will go on sale in the US in quarter two of 2012.
The Asus Eee Pad MeMO features a 7 inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels, processing is provided by a quad core NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor and it features 1GB of built in storage.

Other specifications on the Asus Eee Pad MeMO include a choice of either 16GB or 32GB of storage, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, plus Bluetooth 2.1 +EDR, and it also features two cameras.
Up front there is a 1.2 megapixel camera for video chat, on the back there is a 5 megapixel camera with auto-focus, the rear camera is capable of recoding full high definition video in 1080p.
The Eee Pad Memo with come with Android 4.0.1 Ice Cream Sandwich out of the box and it also features a stylus, it will go on sale in the US in the second quarter of 2012, there are no details on pricing as yet.

New Asus Transformer Prime With Super IPS+ Display Announced

The Asus Transformer Prime went on sale last month, and now Asus has launched a new version, the Asus Transformer Prime TF700T, which features a new Super iPS+ display.
The Super IPS+ display features a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels, this compares to a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels on the original Transformer Prime tablet, and it is powered by a dual core 1.3GHz NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor.

Other new specifications include a 2 megapixel front facing camera, and the back of the device features a new design, plus an 8 megapixel camera with auto-focus and an LED flash.
The Asus Transformer Prime comes with a choice of either 32GB or 64GB of storage and the 32GB model will retail for $599 whilst the 64GB model will retail for $699 and will be available in quarter two.
It certainly sounds even more interesting than the original Transformer Prime, especially with that new high resolution display, although we do wonder how Asus customers who just bought the Transformer Prime will feel about a new version being released just one month after the original went on sale.

Nuance Dragon Go Android Voice Recognition App Launched, Free To Download

Following on from its launch in July on iOS Nuance has today launched the their new free Dragon Go! application for Google’s Android mobile OS. The new Dragon Go! app combines Nuance’s Dragon voice recognition and natural language understanding with artificial intelligence technology. Providing a voice recognition app for Android, that not only hears what you say, but actually understands what you mean.

Michael Thompson, senior vice president and general manager, Nuance Mobile explains:
“Legacy search applications are fading in mobile. Consumers want immediate and direct access to content – not scrolling, hunting or pecking through search links or filtered content,”-”Dragon Go! gives people the freedom to speak freely, and magically get the content they want.
Dragon Go! features the largest direct-access content ecosystem in mobile today. Consumers can say virtually anything and immediately jump to relevant destinations.”
For example, here are a few phrases you can use to find information quickly:
“What’s the best Thai food near me,” and instantly be taken to the Yelp tab for local reviews, or flip over to the Phone tab to quickly call to find out about any specials on the menu that evening.
“Reservations for two at Slanted Door in San Francisco,” to be taken directly to OpenTable to book a table for dinner, or scroll over to the Maps tab to find out how to get there from where you are now.
Nuance’s new Dragon Go! app is now available for free on the Android Market.

Sony Xperia Ion Android Smartphone Announced

Sony has announced their first Xperia smartphone that will be produced under their Sony brand rather than the Sony Ericsson brand, the Sony Xperia Ion and it features a 4.6 inch HD Reality display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels.
The Sony Xperia Ion is powered by a dual core 1.5GHz processor and it features 16GB of built in storage, there is also a 12 megapixel rear camera which can record full HD video in 1080p, and the camera uses Sony’s latest Exmor R sensor.

The Xperia Ion comes with Android 2.3 Gingerbread, although Sony has said it will get an update to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, it also features  LTE, NFC, HD sharing with DLNA, HDMI and Sony’s Bravia Sync.

Nokia Lumia 900 LTE Windows Phone Gets Official (Video)

Nokia has officially announced their latest Windows Phone smartphone, the Nokia Lumia 900, which is the companies first LTE Windows Phone device and it is headed to US mobile carrier AT&T.
The Nokia Lumia 900 comes with Windows Phone Mango 7.5, and it features a 4.3 inch AMOLED ClearBlack touchscreen display with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels, as you can see from the photos the design is very similar to that of the Nokia Lumia 800.

Processing on the Nokia Lumia 900 is provided by a single core 1.4GHz processor and it features an 8 megapixel camera with an f/2/2 Carl Zeiss lens, the camera is capable of recording HD video in 720p.

On the front of the Nokia Lumia 900 is a 1 megapixel camera with an F2.4 lens for video chat and taking photos and video, plus it also comes with 16GB of storage built in.
Nokia and AT&T haven’t as yet announced when the Nokia Lumia 900 will be available, all we know is within the ‘coming months’ and there are also no details on pricing as yet.
